Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The standout feature at The English Restaurant is undoubtedly the food. Diners rave about the flavorful, beautifully presented dishes. The Josper-grilled options, particularly the Tomahawk and Chateaubriand, frequently receive high praise for their delicious smoky flavor. The attentive service, particularly from staff members like Fabricio, also earns appreciation for its warmth and friendliness, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, the restaurant's extensive wine list and artfully crafted cocktails add to the appeal, making it an excellent destination for wine lovers. The luxurious yet cozy environment, complete with a fireplace, is perfect for both intimate dinners and group celebrations.

Most Disliked

Some visitors have noted that the menu can feel a bit limited, especially for those seeking more variety in fish dishes, as there tends to be only one fried option. Additionally, during busier times, service might slow down, affecting the overall dining experience. A few patrons expressed concerns about price points, feeling that while the quality is exceptional, it may be on the higher side for casual dining. Reservations are often recommended due to demand, which can be inconvenient for those looking for a more spontaneous outing. Despite these minor drawbacks, the majority of reviews lean heavily towards satisfaction.

I had the most amazing experience at the Crazy Bear Hotel. The room was incredibly cool, funky, and spotlessly clean – it had such a lovely feel that made it truly special. The staff at reception were warm and welcoming, and the gentleman who served our food went above and beyond, being both friendly and accommodating. The food itself was absolutely outstanding, beautifully presented and full of flavour. And the bed – it was like sleeping on a cloud, one of the most comfortable nights’ sleep I’ve ever had. Overall, everything about this stay was perfect, from start to finish. Highly recommend! ⸻

Absolutely amazing meal. Used the restaurant as part of a 2 night stay at the Crazy Bear and the food was amazing. The waiter was amazingly friendly and very knowledgable. Old school values in a modern setting with charm and charisma. The food choices are somewhat limited but the quality is sensational. Good portion size and was truly full at the end. We even considered going back the 2nd second and probably would have done if the manage wasn’t as limited. But would definitely recommend.

Had a very enjoyable afternoon and evening, started with Thai massages and sitting round the pool before eating. The staff very friendly and helpful, food was very good, the only negative was for my wife who mainly eats fish, only only fish dish was fish and chips and does not eat fried food, would be good to have another fish dish. I had the fish and chips, as not eaten for ages and they were very good and the chips still had the skins on which I like and rarely get. The wine list is good have options for all pockets. Was a Wednesday not as busy as other times we have been. We look forward to returning.
